In 2014, Bruce
took a project in Colorado. In July and October, Betsy came out and they took a
couple of mini-vacations. In July, 2013, Betsy took a tour of the Holy Land with a group from the church. For her, it was the experience of a lifetime. In October, 2012, Betsy visited Bruce while he was working in Oregon. In October, 2011, Betsy, Holly and Zach took a short vacation in New Orleans. During 2010 and 2011, Bruce was working on a project in Nevada and spent a lot of time in Las Vegas. The result was a series of "mini-vacations" for Betsy, Bruce, the grandkids and close friends. This section covers a number of getaways during that time. This is a group camping area in the Ouachita National Forest and is home DORBA's annual Memorial Day weekend mountain biking bash. During the holidays in January of 2009, Betsy and Bruce took a trip from Dallas to Florida to visit family. They visited Bruce's daughter in Daleville, AL: other relatives in Central Florida, stayed at a bed & breakfast in Mobile, AL, and visited historic Vicksburg, MS. In August of 2008, Betsy and Bruce spent a weekend in Nashville in conjunction with some business travel out to Tennessee. In May of 2008, Betsy and Bruce took a three-day weekend trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Use the link on the left for the story and photos of the trip. In June, 2006, Betsy accompanied Bruce on a trip to Ashville, NC and Charleston, SC in conjunction with some NCEES Electrical Exam Committee work he was doing in Clemson. In January of 2005, Bruce and Betsy spent time in Florida with family & friends. They visited Betsy's cousin Ann in Dunedin, visited Clearwater, St. Pete and Ft. Desoto. They went on to see Betsy's brother in Leesburg, spent a few days at Bruce's sister's place in Apopka, then went on to visit Bruce's uncle Mike in Deland. They wrapped up the trip with a visit to Bruce's cousin Bill in Gainesville before heading tack to Dallas. In June 2003, they combined a little pleasure with business, and took some time off to play during a business trip to the island of Puerto Rico. Also in June of 2003, Bruce and Betsy spent time in Florida with family & friends. They picked up his daughter in Alabama, visited Betsy's brother in Leesburg, spent a few days at Bruce's sister's place in Apopka with his daughter, mother, brother and in-laws, then went on to visit Bruce's uncle Mike in Deland. They wrapped it all up with a visit with Bruce's cousin Bill in Gainesville before heading tack to Dallas. A brief description of a vacation trip Bruce and Betsy took through the Southwestern states with Michael and Sara in July, 1999. This was a vacation trip planned as a final family vacation before Michael graduated high-school.
Bruce had been doing work in Peru for Ministry of Telecommunications for several years. On the fourth and final trip to Lima in October of 1995, Betsy came along and they combined a little pleasure with their business by taking a trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu.
